It has been too long since I have written anything. I'm hoping to change that. Life has been chaotic, but good lately.

We moved into our new home on June 15th. I love it here. The neighborhood and schools are much better. The peace of mind this move has brought me in getting away from toxic neighbors has been tremendous. Out of sight, out of mind really does apply. The kids adjusted pretty well. We have a neighbor two doors down who's daughter is in Nicky's class. One of Katey's pre-school friends lives right around the corner. The move was one of the best things we've done.

During the week we moved into the new house, I herniated a disc in my lower back. That was the most excruciating pain I have ever had. The disc compressed the Sciatic nerve. I couldn't tell my back was hurting anymore, because some sadistic bastard was pushing a hot poker through my right thigh and calf. That was what it felt like anyway. It hit me hard on a Friday, I ended up in the ER on Saturday. Sitting was so painful I begged my husband to just turn around and go home within the first three minutes of leaving the house. He was held out and got me to the ER. It was a fairly useless visit. The doctor decided I pulled a muscle. Luckily, I had made an appointment with my regular doctor for Monday. She is awesome and got me diagnosed and to the right specialist and physical therapist.

It's strange to have your strongest, dominant side be suddenly weaker than the other side. The spine Dr. had me try to stand on my tip toes, and I kept falling to the right. That foot couldn't hold it. There was a lot of numbness down my right side from my hip to my toes. After nine months, I'm still not 100%, but I am pretty much functioning normally now. I haven't started Karate back up. I am worried about the kicks and my back. I'm not completely pain free, but I'm doing good.

I developed a good friendship during all this time. Katey's friend joined her in karate and I slowly got to know his mother. We have a good, strong, 'healthy' friendship going. It is so nice to have a friend that lives close.

I haven't been writing, but I have definitely been reading. I've kept up on what's been going on with you all. I am working on poking myself out of the inactivity I've gotten into lately. This is a start.

The back news is awful, but the moving news and the results sound wonderful for all! I'm happy to hear that. :)

Luckily, it doesn't seem like I have too much nerve damage. So, are you headed to London for a visit or to stay awhile?

Did I really not reply?

dang... I bought a one way ticket, and I am hoping to find some work over there, and stay a while. Maybe a few years... but I know it's not exactly the best time to be job hunting...
