2 weeks tomorrow
Nov. 13th, 2003 04:14 pmWell, almost to the two-week mark. For work, I gave my 2 weeks notice last Friday. My last day is the 21st of November. I am definitely ready for it to be over. I have the week of Thanksgiving off. That will be nice. That way I can shop and help my Mom cook. I think Dad actually took that week off also. It will be nice to have that time with my parents before I leave.
Stacy is going to Georgia for a week, leaving this Saturday. Her last day of work is this Friday. She is officially moved out also. She has gone to Fort Drum in Watertown, New York. It is about 3 ½ hours from Albany. Don’t know if I mentioned it or not, but she and her husband Daniel are getting back together after a 2 year separation. We will see how that goes. I am happy for her. After this Friday though, I will only see her again on Thanksgiving. That is too bad really.
I am really going to miss my family when I leave. Still, this move isn’t as drastic as moving from Georgia to Arizona and leaving them behind. At least this time I will only be a 12-hour drive or a 2-hour flight away. That is much better than a 3-day drive, 6- hour flight.
I am getting pretty excited about my move. I am kind of ready for Thanksgiving to be over so I can get on my way. Ned has been great at keeping me grounded. I have had a lot to distract me this past month also. What with a vacation to Arizona 2 weeks ago. I am thinking that my main problem will be after the 21st when I don’t have to work anymore. The only thing to distract me then is Thanksgiving, which could keep me pretty busy. Thanksgiving was always a big deal in my house and there will be lots of family there.
I really don’t have anything left to plan. Everything is all set to go. Right now I am just working on putting as much money into the bank as I can. Just boosting my savings so that I have reserves on hand.
