Dec. 17th, 2005

kajel: (Me)
The year is coming to a close and I find that life has certainly changed. 2005 started out with a whirlwind of activity all in preparation for the big day. Ned and I had a beautiful wedding ceremony on February 12, 2005. The preparations went so smoothly and we were so pleased with the results. Lake Lynn Lodge was a wonderful spot for the ceremony and reception. The staff was great and they decorated everything for us. They went beyond our expectations. We had quite a crowd of family and friends to celebrate with. Everyone made our wedding day very special for us. Disney World for the honeymoon was a blast. We went to every single park. We brought home souvenirs, pictures, and the flu. I was one very sick person by the time we got home.

Life went well for us this year in jobs, friends, and adventures. We took my sister and Daniel white water rafting on the Nahntahala River in the Smokey Mountains this summer. It was definitely an adventure. I can tell you what happens when you get overconfident on the river; it dumps you in and spins you all about. Luckily no one was hurt. Everyone made it safely back into the raft except me. I had the bad luck of being swept to the other side of the river where some kind people helped fish me out. It was a very short trek around the restaurant, across the bridge, and over to the take out point where we turned the raft back in. I think I had a little more excitement than I needed that day. Stacy and Daniel were stationed in Germany this summer. They will be there for three years. In November Daniel was sent to Kuwait for a year. The family was relieved as we thought he was headed to Iraq.

In November Ned and I decided it was time to buy a house. On December 12th we signed a contract and we hope to close in January. We cannot wait to get out of this apartment. A house of our own....Wow! We are extremely excited. The house is a three bedroom 2 bath ranch about 2 1/2 miles from where we live now. I know what you are thinking, but really, patience people, show a little patience. First a house and make sure we are settled, and then start a family.

There have been quite a few changes this year. We hope that you have had as much good fortune as we have had this year. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a great year in 2006.
