Last night and 5ht
Aug. 9th, 2012 08:20 amKatey Rose did not wake up from her nap until 5! We did not make it to the grocery store yesterday afternoon. Luckily, I called my husband and he picked up milk for the kids on his way home from work. I will shop without the kids today. Always a little easier that way anyway.
We had dinner with our neighbors last night. We had a recipe she found online. It was zucchini, bell pepper, ground Italian sausage, cheddar cheese and basil tomato pasta sauce. We cooked the sausage in a large frying pan on the stovetop, drained, added the zucchini to soften, added the bell pepper to soften, added the pasta sauce to warm, add the cheese and dump into a 9x13 baking dish. Baked for 15 minutes. We reserved a little cheese to add to the top, but it just melted right into the bubbling juice. I made homemade whole wheat buttermilk cheddar biscuits to eat with it. It was fabulous! It was basically tons of veggies with a little sauce. It would be great on pasta or rice too. If anyone is interested, I will snag her recipe and write it out here.
I have been reminded that 5 happy things are important!
1) My little Katey Rose has new words flying out of her everyday! She is 20 months old today.
2) Maple syrup and dark cocoa powder. This makes my maple mocha coffee!!
3) Nana is coming at 9 this morning!! I get a partial day to myself.
4) Coffee shops and books. After one errand, this is where I will be today and what I will be doing.
5) Neighbors who have become good friends.
