Long time no write
Mar. 14th, 2005 01:41 pmI thought I should probably post an update here, before everyone thinks I have dropped off the face of the earth. My last couple of weeks has been pretty productive.
This is the busiest time of year at work. I have been pretty slammed there. The funny thing is, for all the craziness going on, I haven't really stressed about it. I really feel like I am settling down and getting a grasp on the little things that have been evading my understanding. I am feeling more confident, and am less likely to make mistakes. The people I work with are great, and I am settling in well.
Financially, I am feeling more grounded. We have savings in the bank. I have a plan worked out that will allow us to buy a house at the end of the year. We have purchased a new computer. We can do the things we want without feeling strapped. This is a great goodness.
My social life is apparently starting to take off. I met Aunt Debbie's ex-daughter-in-law at my wedding shower. She was a lot of fun. She and her fiancé want to get together and hang out. We have 3 other couples we hang out with anywhere from occasionally to several times a month. A couple from Ned's work and a couple from my work are being added to those we socialize with outside the office. The ladies are inviting me places with them, parties, shopping, etc. It is nice to have friends. Especially those you know you can rely on in a pinch.
Lynn (works with Ned) called me Saturday morning to see if I wanted to go to a Pampered Chef party that morning at a friend from work's house. I went, we had a blast. We ended up going out with Ned's Mom, Reece, and his sister Pam to a restaurant in Albemarle. There was a band playing everyone wanted to hear. A woman from my work was throwing a party that I went to on Sunday. For a weekend where I had no plans, I sure went out a lot.
Life is good right now. I am trying to enjoy it to it's fullest.
